new bromfieldii and aucampiae seedlings

My youngest Lithops seedlings (sown on the 9th of October) are slowly getting a little succulent. Here are the bromfieldii v. glaudinae 'Rubroroseus' (amazing germination rate: 27 out of 27 seeds sown) and aucampiae ssp. euniceae 'Bellaketty' (of which I only had 5 seeds and now 4 seedlings, yay!). I'm glad to see Rubroroseus kids showing some color and looking forward to watching them grow. :)

  3. These are lovely! They are growing more quickly than mine did, too. How do you do that??

    1. Thanks Marla! I don't do anything. I still keep them under a cover to prevent the pumice from drying so that i don't have to water them that often (i tend to forget that XD ).
I think it maybe depends on the kind. The other two species I've sown around the same time are still in the tiny see-through state, I can't even take a picture, so.. :)

  4. Those look great! Is now a good time to sow lithops seeds? I have some that I really want to get going...

    1. In my conditions the best time is October and February. I guess you could try though. Just don't sow all the seeds at once ... and read about the sowing method for lithops first, to be safe ;)

  5. Yeah I started some last February and they've done really great...I guess I'll just have to be patient for a few more months and wait for February to get here. Thanks!

  6. Hi Rika,

How long will these seedling stay in this pot? I assumed you won't be transplanting them anytime soon, right?

    Thanks,
    JL

    1. Hi JL,
Yes, they will stay in this pot until it gets too small for them. Like here: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LVpjURMyBdE/T4Lx-U1_WbI/AAAAAAAABTw/nU7BCvYHRzc/s1600/C308+lesliei+ssp.+burchellii_017.jpg
