Another greenie - bromfieldii 'Sulphurea' this time - is going to bloom. Exciting as it is it's kinda untimely. Also, some of the other greenies have decided to just skip the flowering part and go over to regenerating. We'll see how this'll play out for them. Can't blame them though: judging by the weather I also could think it's October.
The green Lithops are sure nice; just discovered that one of my Avocado Creams have died, sad news for me and the other Avocado Cream. Will need to find another. Your green Lithops are beautiful, the radiating lines of C362 and the dots on the C363 are amazing! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's sad but it happens. After a winter, during the regeneration, there are always losses. We just try to minimize them in cultivation.
DeleteI wished I could get seeds of C362 and C363 but the plants don't play along this time. Oh well :)
Looks like you may have a pod on one of the C363; I hope it is successful. :-)
ReplyDeleteI doubt that :)
DeleteIt was the only flower and you always need two flowers from two different plants to get Lithops seeds. Its mates have decided to regenerate now so no idea when they come around to having flowers, probably not this year..
Oh, really? So, what will happen to that one seed-pod looking thing? It tricked me, it sure looks like a pod, Lol. :-)
ReplyDeleteSometime they can self-pollinate, but they need to be stimulated by some other mesemb pollen. In this case there was nothing so there probably won't be anything inside :)
