lesliei v. mariae seedlings

These seedlings (sown 23.10.2010) are finally starting to look like adults, long fissure and everything. I don't see much of the mariae-like dotted feature yet and the color varies a lot but they should get there in time. As most of my other seedlings they seem to be sleeping through the summer. Some have regenerated a couple of months ago, some haven't. Also, I'm glad the one greenie is still alive. :)
To see a documentory of their lives click on the seedlings 2010 tag.

  2. They are looking good. I sometimes get worked up, just a little, when I see great looking large lithops being mistreated at a nursery, knowing it is a labour of love to get them the way they are looking, then some nutter takes hose at treat them like ferns! Rant over!
You should be proud Rika. LT

    1. Thanks LT :)
It's hard to not try to "save" those plants before worse happens. But sometimes those large lithops are "pushed" to get large even before they arrive at a garden center or flower shop and are so addicted there's nothing more to save.

    1. I think the color might yet change. Also, they're probably less orange in the fall. :) You know how they change the intensity of the color depending on how much light and water they get, and which time of the year it is.
