new seed capsules

All of the four karasmontana seed capsules have dried up by now and react to water. Still, I'm going to leave the seeds inside for some time.

    1. Thanks! You're right, the mechanics are very interesting. One drop of water and it opens so quickly just in front of your eyes :)

  2. After opening the capsule can be closed again? How? It closes by itself?

As shown in the photo, it appears that the seeds are not ripe yet, right?

    What interesting!

By a moment, in the second photo, I thought that the capsule was in your hand!

    1. Yes, it opens when it's wet and closes again when it's dry (in a couple of minutes). I think that when the capsule is dry the seeds should be ripe (a dried up capsule can't give any more new substances to the seeds and the fact that it opens with water), but you're right, the color of the seeds is a little off so that i'll leave them untouched in the capsule for a while. :) Lithops seeds can only get better with time~

  3. How did the seeds come about? As in how did they produce the seeds, during when its flowering time it produces in the bud or just inside the slit?
