Sleepyheads

Lithops lesliei look like they are not particularly happy the spring is coming. They seem to squint in the first warm sunlight and hide back in their cozy pumice beds. "Don't wake us just yet!"

  2. You can't rush a lithops. They do things in their own way and in their own time frame. They are the epitome of independence. Especially when they are waking up from a long winter's nap. One of the most difficult things new lithops grower have to learn is when to leave them alone. Your lesliei group will look so nice when they finally throw off their winter covers. :) Of course they may not recognize their surroundings but I'm sure they will be very happy when they discover where they are. You have beautiful plants Rika and you know how to grow them. Be proud.

    1. You're absolutely right. It might take them a long time in winter to change their leaves but as soon as the sun is shining longer and warmer - there they are and the old leaves are melting into nothing in no time! We have had several sunny days and the progress is really visible. On most of the lithops the old leaves are almost gone. And this in several days only.

Haha I hope they like it :D So far it seems my worries were futile. They should get as much sunlight as before.

Thank you very much for encouraging me Bob :)
