Sown in June 2011, these lesliei v. burchellii have just gone through a regeneration and are showing nice, more distinguished pattern. Some are very interesting indeed, even though only several present burchellii-like markings. All in all lesliei are very grateful plants, adults as well as seedlings. :)
There's quite a kaleidoscope of colours in there!
ReplyDeleteI think lesliei is probably my thirstiest species. It (especially lesliei venterii) starts to shrink long before any of the others and then gets watered. I probably water them 4 times for every once that I water dorotheae... which seems to be the camel of Lithops, holding out for ages before showing any signs of wanting water.
True, the seedlings are still indecisive about their appearance, it seems. :)
DeleteNow that you say it, this is peobably the reason why I find them easy to grow. The dorothea also take soooo long to regenerate, no idea when mine should be finisched. The lesliei are all making good progress though.
WOW! These are Beautiful! I am growing some Lithops from seed as well.. when did you start slowing down the watering? some of mine are just starting to put out their frist set of new leaves
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteI normally keep them under a see-through cover until the first "real" leaves come out (might be half a year or so). It's not necessary but I do it so that I don't have to watch them and can go away for a month without worrying they will dry out. After the first leaves come out I water as soon as they're soft to the touch.
Looking good Rika. Some funny patterns in there...
ReplyDeleteThanks! Looking forward to the next regenerations. With each one the patterns look more clearer~
DeleteBeautiful! Although I must admit that my first impression was a collection of cervices. Work must be getting to me.
