New two-headed plants

My fulviceps are regenerating very untimely for some reason. They've changed leaves in winter perfectly but are doing it again now. Almost all of them and synchronously, too. Funny plants. I wonder how they're going to preceed and what they'll be doing next winter. Interestingly they feel well enough to grow two heads.

Sorry for the dusty pics ;)

  1. The pictures are fine. And your lithops are amazing, I turn jealous of seeing them changing leaves already, and dubble headed, congrats =)

    1. Thanks Sonia :)
Yes I like it when they get more heads, too. Still I worry about how they will develop after such an untimely change..

  2. Interesting! Lovely looking plants, could the weather have had a effect? LT

    1. Indeed. I don't think it comes entirely from the weather or i'd have more plants regenerating early. Except for the Aureas there are also two Sulphureas doing it but no other plants. Little confused greenies.

  3. Very interesting, I wonder what is triggering them? We're having a very active solar cycle, and the weather has been really weird. If only they could talk!

    1. I honestly don't know but it's really interesting. I have a couple of confused plants every year but not limited to one species or something. This time it is as if all the Aureas got an order to regenerate and are doing it together.

    1. Thank you! I like this 'clean' layout, too. It's fresh :)
Maybe they just have some resources they can spare. I heard with cacti and succulents the difference between flowers and new leaves/branches isn't that big so that on the early stage one can turn into another.. No idea if this theory can be applied to lithops.
