Faucaria tigrina

As promised here are the pics of my new Faucaria tigrina ♥. Pretty spots, scary teeth and flowers coming up! :)
In other news: Greenhorn's flower is growing a bit too slowly; new flower bud has become visible on another Sulphurea (so untimely); all in all the plants are suffering (or not?) from the heat getting very wrinkly at the end of every day.

  1. Reminds me of the monsters from the sci-fi movie Pitch Black (with Vin Diesel). :D

  2. Nice Pics. End of summer - yeah and they can flower for up to 4 months. They get to a nice size as well, and in maybe 2 years you will be looking for a bigger pot, but they stay eye-catching. LT

  3. I have one of these, an older one. These young ones are lovely! I've had a question about tigrina that I can't find an answer to-- most picutres of F. tigrina in situ show red-tinged leaves, but mine are green with white spots and yours are green, too. I've tried giving mine more sun, but it stays stubbornly green. I wonder what's up with the red coloration??

    1. Yep, I also think it's variants. On the website with S. Hammer's Growing Mesems infos there's a red Faucaria _tigrina_ on the pic, too

  4. Variants Marla. Some called tigrina is also felina. Then you get a lot of hybrids in between. I posted all my Faucaria together, because I am still not entirely sure about all of them. You will see there are some reddish ones, of which 1 at least is felina ssp brittaniae! F. gratiae has some wonderful red in the leaves.

  5. Such a cool looking plant. Do they look like teeth or saliva, or salivary teeth? Lol :-)
